Who or What inspired you to write?
It was during my elementary years when I discovered my love for writing. My first writing coach back in Grade 5 told me that my way of writing then was not fit for editorial news. Hence, she trained me to be good at feature writing instead.
I won several writing contests in and outside our school. I even competed to the national levels and made me Writer of the Year as I graduated high school. However, I was not able to take journalism in college.
Yet, I knew that writing runs in my veins – regardless if I don’t have formal education or training. When you are passionate about what you are doing, you take the risks to make things happen.
Why did you choose travel as your genre?
I believe we all have that adventurous trait in all of us. Most of us love to travel and experience the fun that traveling brings us. Although, I understand that we might have different reasons for travelling. As for my story, I was not fortunate enough to go to different places at a young age. So I told myself that when I became more financially stable, I would begin to travel and experience the other things this world could offer. My passion for writing plus my determination to travel are perfect combination to pursue travel blogging.
Who would likely be interested in your blog?
I initially wanted to explore and write about traveling on a budget so most of my followers were budget travelers. Then I started to write other topics on my blog like life stories. I wanted to show to my readers that I can do more than just sharing itineraries and that I could also inspire people through my adventures. Just recently, I also began publishing hotel reviews from mid to 5-star accommodations. It started to gain attention from the market. So basically, my target audiences are comprised of budgeted to high-end travel junkies.
What is the weirdest thing about you?
I think I have a strong sixth sense. Hahaha. It’s a little weird whenever I think of things even before they happen? I wonder if it was only coincidence but this occurs a lot. So I take advantage of this “special power” to attract positive things in life.
What do you do when you are not blogging?
As much as possible, I limit my presence online and take this opportunity to rest. Yes, I love to sleep! And I spend most of my no-blogging times with my family and my friends.
Any tips for upcoming bloggers?
I actually have an article for people who want to begin blogging – You Don’t Need to Quit Your Job to Travel. As
mentioned in my article: Always remember that content is King and you need to write consistently. Generally speaking, Consistency is the most important part in blogging.
